Have you received the Green Pass on WhatsApp? Beware, it's a scam.

Fraud

"In this link, you can download the green certificate Green Pass COVID-19 which allows you to move freely throughout Italy without a mask", this is the text of the message that is running on Whatsapp and which invites you to download the mandatory Green Pass from 6 August to have access to various services in Italy. Fraud Alert - once anyone (unfortunately) clicks on the link, the end-user reaches a false corporate web page where there are counterfeit logos very similar to the originals.

After clicking on the link in the message, you are transferred to a page where you are asked to enter your personal and bank details. This invitation turns out to be just a fraud attempt to recover sensitive data. The same scam or similar fraudulent attempts are reaching not only WhatsApp users, but also exploiting other channels such as emails. Fraud Alert - There is even news of the sale, on Telegram channels, of counterfeit green passes for a fee of about one hundred Euros.

The recommendation of the postal police

The postal police, therefore, recommend that you only follow the official methods indicated by the Government to download the Green Pass, that is, through the website www.dgc.gov.it, or depending on your country location, the App IO or Immuni, and certainly, WhatsApp is not an official channel. : via SMS a message arrives that warns of the availability of your certificate, after at least one dose of vaccine, and reports an " AUTHCODE " to be entered together with the Health Card number on "www.dgc.gov.it or App Immuni or wait for notification on App IO ". Everyone is also invited to report any message considered suspicious on the postal police portal: www.commissariatodips.it.
